Requirements
•
Attendance at all three days of the Summer Institute and a
minimum of five monthly meetings are required.
•
Pilot a Science Performance
Assessment Task (either your own design or from the bank of tasks provided)
and gather student work samples generated by that task.
•
Post a descriptive
vignette that emerges from a lesson developed as a result of the Summer
Institute. The lesson should involve either a science performance task or an
open-inquiry activity. Postings might describe an example of student learning,
moments of uncertainty, moments in which the appropriate response was not
clear, occasions when a student expressed an insight which was not anticipated,
etc.
Credit option (in addition to the

Develop a standards-based lesson plan aligned to
the NH Science Curriculum Frameworks:

Note the relevant
GSE in Physical Science
•
Note the relevant
Science Process Skills
•
Include the
Science Performance Task
•
a sample of student
work generated by the performance task
•
provide a written
analysis (1 page) of your analysis of student understanding
•
A 5-minute
classroom videotape from implementation of the performance task, edited
to demonstrate student thinking.
