- August 2006 – March 2007: Conceputalizing, writing, and securing the grant; Further refinement and distribution of information leading to the first meeting of cooperating district representatives; Collaborative planning sessions for the Summer Institute and the Monthly Meetings involving teachers, administrators and IHE faculty. (Selection of materials, etc.)
Current Status - January 2007
- Drs. Burgess and McDonnell have met many hours resulting in obtaining the grant and distributing the initial infomation
- The first two meeting times have been set for 2pm, 25 Jan, Rivier Board Rm and 2:30pm, 15 Feb, Rivier Board Rm
- March - April 2007: Project is promoted to all science teachers via district professional development newsletters and other appropriate means. District supervisor identifies, selects, and invites science teachers to participate in this professional development program. Any teacher seeking HQT status in science and those teaching under Alternative certification are especially encouraged to attend.
- June 2007: Participants submit paperwork to confirm their intent to participate. Letter articulates the commitment to the project beyond the Summer Institute.
- August 2007: Summer Institute.
- September 2007 – May 2007: Follow-up collaborative sessions.
- May 2007: Undergo formal evaluation of the program.
