Online PD Logon

StudentWorldTeacher.net provides professional development for science teachers.

We emphasize the role of how students learn and the need to know what your students are thinking, along with developing good teaching strategies and increasing content understanding. It is our belief that the physical world is what brings students and teachers together, so we practice and develop inquiry learning and inquiry teaching throughout the professional development.

For more infomation contact Fiona McDonnell or David Burgess.

To the left: The Sombrero Galaxy - 28 million light years from Earth - was voted best picture taken by the Hubble telescope. The dimensions of the galaxy, officially called M104, are as spectacular as its appearance. It has 800 billion suns and is 50,000 light years across.

The Summer Physical Science Institute 2007 was a great success! See more pictures at the grant website. The institute was made possible by funding received through a Mathematics Science Partnership grant awarded to our multi-district proposal: “Teacher Inquiry and Student Learning in Science.” The summer institute has been followed by monthly meetings, in which we engage in collaborative assessment of student understanding and learning in science. In addition, we offer online professional development to support content knowledge in science.

News About Next Year!

We have recently been awarded a follow-up grant for $100,000 which is renewable for a total of three years. It builds on the current grant and will allow us to again offer great experiences for teachers of science in New Hampshire. A brief overview is given below.
